The papers contain correspondence, financial records, legal papers, and slave accounts concerning York Plantation, Gale's Valley Plantation, Mount Hindmost Estate, and St. Jago and Paisley Pens, all of which were Morant-Gale family plantations in Jamaica. Also included are letters and papers of William Gale of London, some of which concern his property in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1768-1791. The papers are part of the series, British Records Relating to America on Microfilm.
